Recreation Advisory Commission

The mission of the Recreation Advisory Commission is to advocate for Durham Parks and Recreation and the Durham community. The Recreation Advisory Commission works with the director of recreation and makes recommendations regarding recreation programs, facilities, resources and needs of the city. The commission consists of nine members appointed by the City Council. Members serve without compensation and must reside within the corporate city limits. The Steering Committee will be heading up the master planning process, from collecting information at residents’ meetings to sorting through data to determine future system priorities to presenting the results to elected officials.
